"Early Spring"

While I was in China, I was shown this sword...it was taken from a Japanese officer at the end of the war. It is a very heavy wakazashi and a wonderful shape. The fittings are all copper and the tsuka is wrapped in leather, dyed green, over rayskin. The saya is dyed Buckeye burl. A similar piece would cost approx. $3500.
