Scott was born and raised in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania...site of the Forges that helped George Washington in the Winter of 1776. After he graduated from the Art Center College of Design, he built, and for 25 years, ran an advertising photography studio in Hollywood, California. In 1995 he moved to the Northern California town of San Andreas and built a ranch and sword studio. He learned grinding, forging and clay tempering from the late Bob Engnath and started making swords full-time 14 years ago. He has won many major awards including winning Knives Illustrated "Best Art Knife of the Year" for four consecutive years. In 1996 he also won Blade Magazine's "Best Art Knife of the Year". Scott has been featured in every major knife magazine in the US, Europe and Japan. and is also a member of the Knifemaker's Guild USA, The Knifemaker's Guild of Germany and the Knifemaker's Guild of Italy. He is in major collections in over 18 countries.
